Leica Gallery London To Hold Charlie Gray’s Inaugural Exhibition
Leica Gallery London have announced their latest exhibition, with 12 epic portraits by Charlie Gray on show in the photographer’s inaugural exhibition.
Gray’s inaugural exhibition showcases portraits which illustrate the stories of actors, artists, great entertainers and rock music royalty in his signature narrative style. Gray honed his technical and people skills at university after becoming involved in various documentary projects, and where he began digesting photography books, specifically the work of Martin Parr and Don McCullin. His first commercial assignment was for BAFTA, which enabled him to encounter incredible people from the film studios and entertainment industry, leading to portrait commissions and blue-chip magazine shoots. All works in the exhibition are shot on Leica cameras including the Q, S-System and the SL-System, which Gray cites as giving him the freedom to produce the work he always wanted due to the sublime way it captures light and the wide scope of lenses available.
‘Charlie Gray: Performance’ will be shown between 13th September – 29th October at Leica Gallery London, 64-66 Duke Street, W1K 6JD, where the works will be available for purchase.
