Leica Launch Q3

Leica Camera have announced their latest camera, an update to the popular Q range, the Leica Q3.

Leica’s 3rd generation Q camera, the Leica Q3, comes with several significant upgrades whilst remaining in the compact, sleek design of its predecessors. Internally, the Q3 comes with a new BSI-CMOS sensor with Tripel-Resolution-Technology. With a resolution of either 60, 36 or 18 MP, raw images can be created using the DNG format or processed JPEG files with a perfect look, straight out of the camera. The Q3 uses the entire size of the sensor for all resolutions with a sensitivity range of ISO 50 – 100,000 and the latest generation of the Maestro Series processor with L2 Technology ensures excellent operating speeds. An extended digital zoom allows users to zoom to the focal lengths of 28,35,50,75mm and now 90mm, and a new hybrid autofocus system with phase detection allows for extremely fast tracking and accurate focussing of objects.

Externally, the biggest new feature is the addition of a tiltable 3-inch high-resolution touchscreen which enables unique viewing angles to create even more opportunities for photographers to capture shots they otherwise wouldn’t have access to. Even with the new display, the Leica Q3 retains the IP52 certification, protecting itself against dust and spray water for use in challenging environments. With the ability to record in 8K, and new USB-C and HDMI ports making connection to gimbals, power banks and display recorders, the Leica Q3 now meets all of the needs of content creators.

The Leica Q3 will be available globally at all Leica stores, online and with authorised dealers, for a RRP of £5,300.00, from the 25th May 2023.
